Italian cyclist Mario Cipollini takes part in 3 day cycling event

On the 3rd October 2014 the Aloha Hill Club welcomed more than 20 Danish VIPs and businessmen with a passion for cycling. The program was made even more special by the presence of Italian cyclist superstar Mario Cipollini.

During Cipollini´s extraordinary career, in which he was victorious in each of the 17 seasons he competed, he had 189 victories, earning the reputation as the strongest sprinter of all time. With 42 stage wins he was the multi-winner of the Giro d’Italia (Tour of Italy), and in the Tour de France, he garnered 12 stage wins, making him the best Italian cyclist of all time.

World Champion in 2002 in Zolder, Belgium, with the highest average in history (46.583 km/h), Cipollini also conquered the Milan-San Remo (2002) and was a three-time winner of Ghent-Wevelgem (1992, 1993 and 2002). He has also won an Italian championship (1996) and has three stage wins in the Vuelta (2002).

MCipollini_webAfter retiring in 2005, Mario Cipollini decided to devote himself to his new business manufacturing top of the line bicycles and his own clothing range produced exclusively in Italy. Cipollini´s bike range is available for sale in Spain through www.sport-med.es.

As guests of the Aloha Hill Club resort in Nueva Andalucía (Marbella) the group were ideally situated to take advantage of the area’s diverse terrain and seriously testing cycle routes. In their 3-day schedule, when not using their pedal power, they were encouraged to hone their physical stamina with specially designed “strength training for cyclists” in the resort’s onsite gym and to improve their mental faculties with a session of “Qi Gong – mental training”.

Cipollini also took part in a photo shoot and short interview, which will be featured in the next edition of the Siesta lifestyle magazine. As an active sports patron, Siesta Homes also sponsors the Danish professional cycle team Globe-Team Siesta Home as well as European Tour and former Ryder Cup golfer Soren Hansen.
